VanLogic and VanPlot
Of all the planners on the market, VanPlot is the only one asking the same question we do: what does the conversion do to the axles? The answers differ in how they get there.
What VanLogic is built for
Every piece of furniture gets shape, dimensions, material and build method – the app calculates the weight from that, never a manual guess. 49 materials with stored density, 177 components with real dimensions and weight, eight build methods each with its own formula, plus eight complete build templates and 31 assemblies. It all feeds live into payload, axle loads, centre of gravity and tipping risk, including the remaining payload under DIN EN 1646-2. At the end there is a PDF report for the inspection. VanLogic runs natively on iOS and Android, offline, in the browser as a web app and on the computer as Studio – with 44 vehicle presets including wheel arches, sliding door and roof slope.
What VanLogic does better
In VanLogic the build method decides the weight: the same cabinet weighs several times more as a solid block than as a frame with panelling, and the app calculates both from your dimensions – in VanPlot the weight comes from the catalogue or is typed in by hand. Free-form draws real outlines with leaning walls and rounded corners instead of five basic solids. Cut-outs work rectangular and round on any shape, drawers and doors go on per edge. The collision check also knows the roof slope and suggests the fix right away. Plus eight build templates that adapt to every vehicle, 31 assemblies, the tank full versus empty, and rear, roof and underfloor. And you plan wherever you like: offline on your phone, in the browser or in Studio on the computer – no account, one purchase for the app and up to three browsers, projects as a file.
What VanPlot does differently
Projects live in the cloud with version history, plus an AI assistant and AR. The cutting list is also available as DXF for the workshop. For that, VanPlot needs an account, a big screen and an internet connection.
Checkable, without installing anything
The formulas from the app are available as free calculators in your browser — payload and axle load, weight by build method, panel requirement, insulation requirement and the question of whether your bed fits crosswise. Plus a page per vehicle with every dimension and limit. No account, no download. In the app itself you can try the planning features in the test environment before you decide.

As of 21 October 2026, checked on the providers' websites. “—” means: not stated there. PlanMyCamper has not been a planner since 2026, but a guide with calculators – so it is no longer in the table. We leave prices out: they change more often than the features.
Staying fair
VanPlot has its own comparison page about us. Some details there are out of date: we now have 31 assembly templates instead of 27, realistic 3D with light and shadows, and with Studio our own interface for mouse and big screen.
Our verdict
If you want your projects in a cloud with versions and an AI assistant, take a look at VanPlot. If you want to know what your build really weighs – piece by piece from material and build method –, how that spreads over the axles and how much payload must stay free, on your phone, in the browser and on a big screen, VanLogic is the better fit.
